Sheds.Design is run by Chris, a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), Member of Engineers Australia (MIEAust) and on the National Engineering Register (NER), registered to certify structural work in every Australian state and territory. The same person who assesses your shed signs the Certificate of Compliance — there's no hand-off to a junior, and no design leaves without a Chartered engineer's name on it.
The focus is deliberately narrow: structural engineering and shop drawings for sheds — machinery, hay, grain, farm, workshop, equestrian, storage and rural buildings — across regional and rural Australia. That focus is why the council approval rate sits at 100% across 642 completed projects.
Credentials & registration
Professional membership
Engineers Australia — Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng). The highest level of professional recognition in Australian engineering, requiring demonstrated competency, documented experience and ongoing development. Every shed design and Certificate of Compliance is signed by a CPEng — the same engineer who did the work, not a junior.
National Engineer Register (NER)
Listed on the National Engineer Register — an independent, third-party assessment of qualifications, competency and professional standing. Registered to practise structural engineering in every Australian state and territory, delivered remotely Australia-wide.
Continuous professional development
Engineering standards don’t stand still. I maintain an active CPD programme in line with Engineers Australia requirements, staying current with AS 1170.2 (wind actions), AS 4600 (cold-formed steel) and AS 4100 (steel structures) as they evolve. CPD is a condition of CPEng status, not an optional extra.

Structural engineering is a flat $3,200+GST for any shed, in any state, regardless of size or complexity. Shop drawings are a separate flat $3,200+GST. No regional pricing, no hourly rates, no surprises.
Council-ready documentation
Calculations, drawings, specifications and Certificate of Compliance — everything your council needs for a building permit. If they ask for more, we provide it at no extra cost.
